4. Prescription Medication & Clinical Interactions
Due to the nitric oxide pathway and vasodilatory properties of L-Citrulline Malate, special clinical caution is required for individuals taking prescription pharmaceuticals:
- Nitrate Medications: Do not combine MAXEN Ignite with prescription nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate) as synergistic vasodilation may lead to dangerous drops in blood pressure.
- PDE5 Inhibitors: Consult your prescribing physician before concurrent use with phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (e.g., sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil).
- Blood Pressure Medications: Individuals on ACE inhibitors, ARBs, beta-blockers, or calcium channel blockers must consult their healthcare provider prior to supplementation.
- Anticoagulants / Antiplatelets: Consult your physician if taking blood-thinning therapies.
5. Stop-Use Protocol
Discontinue use immediately and contact emergency medical services or your physician if you experience any unexpected adverse effects, including but not limited to:
- Severe dizziness, lightheadedness, or sudden faintness.
- Rapid heartbeat, palpitations, or chest tightness.
- Shortness of breath, facial swelling, or skin rashes.
- Severe gastrointestinal discomfort or nausea.
